Edge Persona

A 50-competency view of behavioural potential and role fit.

Persona is designed to show how someone is likely to approach work, where they may have natural energy, and which behaviours matter most for a target role.

The assessment combines workplace behaviour statements with forced-choice preference trade-offs. The platform then adapts interpretation around the selected role benchmark, highlighting role-critical and supporting competencies instead of leaving clients with an undifferentiated personality-style profile.

Methodology

How the methodology works

Persona starts broad, then becomes role-specific through benchmark interpretation. That gives the system full coverage of the person while keeping the decision lens tied to the work.

Broad behavioural coverage

  • Every candidate receives coverage across all 50 Edge competencies.
  • The model is organised into 5 clusters and 10 sections, making the report easier to interpret than a flat list of traits.

Trade-off validation

  • Forced-choice items ask candidates to choose between positive workplace behaviours.
  • This reduces the value of simply endorsing every desirable statement.

Adaptive role interpretation

  • Role benchmarks identify 6-8 role-critical competencies and 10-12 supporting competencies.
  • Reports can therefore focus on what the role actually requires, not only on the candidate's broad profile.
Evidence quality

Why it creates stronger evidence

The important distinction is not only what the assessment is called. It is what kind of evidence it collects and how that evidence can be explained.

Competency-led, not label-led

  • The output is a workplace competency profile, not a personality nickname.
  • It connects behaviours to performance accelerators, constraints, benchmark fit and development focus.

Experience and energy are separated

  • Reports can distinguish learned capability from natural strength or emerging potential.
  • That distinction helps development conversations become more precise.
Measurement model

What Persona measures

The Edge50 model groups competencies into practical clusters that mirror how work is actually experienced.
